Set up email on Android¶

Menus vary from manufacturer to manufacturer (Samsung, Xiaomi, Google Pixel…) and between Android versions. The steps below use Gmail, which comes installed on most phones and works with any IMAP account.

1. Open Gmail, tap your photo (top right) and choose Add another account.
2. Choose Other.
3. Type your full email address and tap Manual setup.
4. Choose Personal (IMAP).
5. Type your password and tap Next.
6. Incoming server:
   • Username: your full email address
   • Server: mail.sooma.com
   • Port: 993
   • Security type: SSL/TLS
7. Outgoing server:
   • Require sign-in: on
   • Username: your full email address
   • SMTP server: mail.sooma.com
   • Port: 465
   • Security type: SSL/TLS
8. Choose the sync frequency and tap Next. Give the account a name (for example, Work) and finish.

If you use the Samsung Email app, the fields are the same: choose Manual setup and IMAP account.
