Spam: mark, block, trust¶
Every message that reaches your mailbox goes through the Sooma platform's anti-spam filter. Messages classified as unwanted go to the Spam folder instead of the Inbox.
Review the Spam folder¶
Check the Spam folder from time to time, especially if you are expecting a message that has not arrived. If you find a legitimate message there, move it to the Inbox: drag it, or use ⋮ > Move to….
Trust a sender¶
To stop a sender's messages being treated as spam, add them to Trusted Senders:
- Open Contacts.
- Choose the Trusted Senders address book on the left.
- Click New contact and enter the sender's address.
Block a sender¶
To stop receiving messages from a sender or domain, create a filter:
- Rule: From contains the address or domain (for example, @unwanted-domain.com).
- Action: Delete message, or Move message to Spam if you prefer to review before deleting.
Do not reply to spam
Do not reply, click links or open attachments in suspicious messages. Replying confirms that the address exists. See Recognising phishing and fraud.
If you receive a lot of spam the filter does not catch, or legitimate messages often end up in Spam, open a ticket with an example (use ⋮ > Export to save the message as an .eml file and attach it).
